Pauline Elizabeth Mullen, age 89, of Dewitt, MI died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Hazel Findlay Country Manor in St. Johns, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns, MI on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Almond, New York.

Pauline was born in Renesselaer, Indiana on May 28, 1925, the daughter of Clarence and Christine (Shelley) Knouff. She was a graduate of Renesselaer High School in Indiana with the class of 1943. Pauline married James Heers on February 22, 1945 in Renesselaer, IN; he preceded her in death in May of 1951. She married Alvah Mullen on February 12, 1955. Pauline had resided in Dewitt for the past 17 years. She loved being with her family and traveling throughout the United States. She also enjoyed yard work, gardening, cooking, and baking. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns, MI.

Pauline is survived by her husband Alvah Mullen of Dewitt, MI, 2 daughters; Carol and Victor Lotycz of St. Johns, MI, Donna and Richard Hogan of Farmington Hills, MI, son Douglas Mullen of Columbus, IN, 6 grandchildren; Rebecca and Jody, Nicholas, Alex, Abby, Greg, Kara, 4 great grandchildren; Kody, Shelby, Anthony, and Ella, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, son in law Allen VanDerStuyf, and 6 siblings.
