Pauline Winnonah Nethaway, age 82, of Ovid, MI passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Dr. Dan Cameron will officiate. Burial will take place at Fairfield Township Cemetery, Fairfield, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday July 22, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Pauline was born in Elsie, Michigan on Saturday August 4, 1928, the daughter of Francis Donald and Elsie Dell (Cook) Saxton. Pauline resided most of her life in Ovid, MI and was a graduate of Ovid Elsie High School, Class of 1946/1978.
Pauline married Charles Nethaway on March 23, 1946 in Elsie, MI while he was serving in WW II. Pauline was an avid oil painter and was a talented organ, piano and accordion player, which she played by ear. She also loved to yodel. Pauline loved to cook and collect cookbooks. Her grandchildren & great-grandchildren brought her much joy and were very dear to her heart. Pauline was a member of the Duplain Church of Christ, at one time being very active in the church.
She is survived by her husband Charles Nethaway of Ovid, MI, son Gary and Collen Nethaway of Elsie, MI, son Barry Nethaway of Bannister, MI, son Gene and Kathy Nethaway of Elsie, MI, son Danny and Connie Nethaway of Ovid, MI, daughter Charline and David Clark of Ovid, MI, grandchildren; Les, Karrie, Amber & Tim, Autumn & Beau, Adam & Stephanie, Jodi & Joe, Eric & Denise, Hollie, Pamela & Brandon, Joshua, Melissa, Jared, Talia and Kayla, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 4 brothers-in-law, 10 sisters-in-law, and several cousins. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 6 brothers-in-law and 4 sisters-in-law.
