Pearl "Peggy" Williams, age 84, passed away on June 17, 2014 in St. Johns, MI. She was born on October 11, 1929, in East Detroit, the daughter of George and Pearl (Naismith) Hayter. She married Vernon Williams on March 5, 1948 in Dearborn, MI, and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2003. Pearl was a loving wife and mother and she loved to sing. She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Plymouth, MI, where she was active in music ministry. Pearl was also a prayer warrior for widows, and currently a member at St. Johns First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, Richard (Carol) Williams of Indiana, David (Cindy Hartzell) Williams of Constantine, MI, and Patricia (Mark) Lutz of St. Johns, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, sister in law, June Hayter and many nieces and nephews. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, her parents and brother, George Samuel Hayter.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at St. Johns First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery, Pastor Tim Knaus officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Pearl to First Baptist Church/Beacon of Hope.

The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
