Peggy Strpko

Peggy Jane Strpko, age 78, of Ashley, MI passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns Chapel St. Johns, MI on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Mr. Tom Bradley will officiate. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday March 12, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 11-1 P.M. prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Peggy was born in Pompeii, Michigan on July 5, 1933, the daughter of Bingley and Lucille (Peters) Dougherty. Peggy has resided in Pompeii, St. Louis, North Star and Ashley during her lifetime and was an Ashley High School graduate.
Peggy married William Strpko on October 27, 1951 in Bannister, MI.

Her family, grandchildren & great-grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved to cook and bake. Peggy's favorite pastime was sitting on the porch and waving to passersby.

She is survived by her husband William Strpko of Ashley, MI; daughter Kathrine and John Guerrero of Ashley, MI; son Michael Strpko & Janice Seperic of St. Johns, MI; daughter Tina and Ernie Block of DeWitt, MI; son Gary and Libby Strpko of Lansing, MI; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Lloyd Dougherty of Ithaca, MI; sister Yvonne Stanbridge of Texas; sister Marilyn and Dale Lott of St. Louis, MI; sister Carole and Kenneth McNitt of Grand Rapids, MI; brother Jack and Pam Dougherty of St. Louis, MI.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth Dougherty and sister Beverly Goward.
