Philip Ray McKeachie, age 73, of Dewitt, MI died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Eaton County Hospice.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Ken Bremer will officiate. Burial will take place at East Plains Cemetery in Matherton, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns, Michigan.
Philip was born in Matherton, Michigan on October 12, 1935, born the son of Florence Parmelee, and adopted and raised by Cecil and Hazel McKeachie. He graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High with the class of 1954 and he resided most of his life in Clinton County. Philip married Jacquelyn White on November 13, 1999. He belonged to the DeWitt VFW Men's Auxiliary, and loved racing, camping, and roller coasters. He was a former employee of Brown Bros. Construction, Bierlein Industrial Services, and retired from E.T. Mackenzie in December 2001. He attended Pilgrim United Methodist Church
He is survived by his wife Jacquelyn McKeachie of DeWitt, MI, daughter Lecia and Tim Lamphere of Scotts, MI, son Philip and Valerie McKeachie of St. Johns, MI, step daughter Tamela and Tom Sinke of Lake Odessa, MI, step son Steven and Cathy Maas of Eaton Rapids, MI, step son Mark Maas of DeWitt, MI, step daughter Susan and Pat Nitz of St. Johns, MI, 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister Diane and Daryle McMaster of Eaton Rapids, MI, and his dog Marnie. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara Jean McKeachie in 1996, and son Barry McKeachie in 1960.
