Phillip Carroll "Phil" Perry, age 77, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at The Willows at East Lansing, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns , MI , Saturday, August 28, 2021 , at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. James Schweigert officiating.  Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery , St. Johns , MI .  Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and also on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Phillip was born in Lansing , Michigan on January 25, 1944 , the son of Louis W. and Emma Mae (Inman) Perry.  He married Sally Elaine Whittaker on October 15, 1983 at Woodview Nazarene Church in DeWitt , MI .  They were blessed with 36 years of marriage prior to her passing on January 14, 2020 .

Phil retired from General Motors as a job setter in 2004 after 38 years of service.  He loved fixing and restoring muscle cars, camping and fishing. He loved being outside tinkering in his garage and tending his vegetable garden.  Phil was very creative with woodworking and enjoyed making various kinds of wood furniture for family and friends.  Phil was an exceptional father who always put his children before himself.  He was also a very supportive grandpa.  He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and watching them grow.  His dogs Daisy, Gabby and Maddie held a special place in his heart.  He was a member of UAW Local 652, Lansing , MI .  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his children: Amy Jo and Robert Fraker, Chad and Jessica Perry, Heidi Ruppert and Pat McGee, Kyle and Denise Fullhart, grandchildren: Bob (Breanne) Fraker, Zachary (Mallory) Fraker, Tristen Perry, Olivia Ruppert, Griffin Perry, Eric "Kamron" Perry, Julia Ruppert, Makala Perry, Gavyn Perry, Hunter Wylie, and Wyatt Fullhart.  He is also survived by two great-grandchildren: Beau Fraker and Fitzgerald Fraker.    He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sally, son Eric, two brothers: Harold and Richard Perry.
