Phillip Straub

Phillip Elmer Straub age 75 of Elsie, MI passed away Sunday September 14, 2008 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Edwin Snook will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 17, 2008 from 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes and Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM.

Phillip was born in Leslie, Michigan on July 17, 1933, the son of Loya and Mae (Smith) Straub. Phillip married Lillian Marie DePue in Webberville, Michigan on August 17, 1962. Phillip served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed hunting & fishing. Farming was a big part of Phillip's life; he also enjoyed square dancing and bingo.

Phillip is survived by his wife Lillian Straub of Elsie, MI, 4 daughters; Marie and Jim Ade of Elsie, MI, Angela Rose of Bannister, MI, Phyllis and Mike Hammond of Williamston, MI, LouAnn LaClair of Ithaca, MI, 4 sons; Bill and Jackie Crossley of Bannister, MI, Ralph and Lois Crossley of Ithaca, MI, LJ and Debbie Straub of Ovid, MI, Danny and Deanna Straub of Wisconsin, 30 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 sister Peg and Jack O'Berry of Mason, MI, 2 brothers; Richard and Eva Straub of Kentucky and Don Straub of Lansing, MI. He was predeceased by his parents, grandson James Ade, 2 sisters; Edith & Dorothy & brother Howard.
