Rachel Bigelow

Rachel Bigelow age 89 of Owosso, Michigan died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Johns United Church of Christ Owosso, MI on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Pastor John Downing will officiate with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2007 from 10:00 to 11:00 at the church.

Rachel was born in Greeley, Colorado on January 14, 1917 the daughter of Jacob and Kathryn ( Scheible ) Laubach. She resided most of her life in the Owosso - Corunna area. Rachel married Ray Bigalow on September 25, 1937 in Owosso, Michigan. He passed away on April 19, 1957. In her early years she worked at Redmana�(TM)s Factory and at Stoners Cleaners as a seamstress until 1966. She then worked in the Dietary Department at Memorial Healthcare Center until 1982, when she retired. She enjoyed bowling. Rachel was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ and was active in all church activities, as well as the Womans Guild, Eagles Lodge #851, Ladies Auxiliary, and the Reac Club.

She is survived by her son Leon Bigelow and special friend Lynn Kroszkewicz of Bancroft, MI, daughter Marlene Jones of Ovid, MI, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Bertha Warner of Florida, Helen Baliko of Florida, and several nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, 1 sister, and 4 brothers.

Memorials may be made to St. Johns United Church of Christ, Owosso, MI. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
