Randall Blane “Randy” Sumner age 65, of Alma, MI, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at his home with his nephew Jake at his side.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Terri Bentley officiating.  Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI next to his mother and father. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Randall was born in Alma, MI on June 23, 1953 the son of James P. and Doris I. (Kehl) Sumner.  Randy graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1971.  On November 21, 1974 Randy married Forrest Jean Vincent in Tucson, AZ. When he was young, Randy worked in Tucson, AZ with his parents manufacturing, selling, and repairing mobile homes. Randy was the Supervisor for Transportation for Dial-a-Ride in Alma for 35 years, retiring in July 2015.
Randy loved to bake with Audry at his side and anything he made was delicious! He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with family and friends. Randy was a big man with a heart of gold!
Randy is survived by Jean his wife of 44 years, son Mark (Shannon) Vincent of TX, brother Jim Sumner, sister Cherrie (Ralph) Lundberg, and brother-in-law Marion Vallance.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Nathan Harris, Gretchen Whipple, Jimmy (Rachel) Vallance, Dave (Toni) Vallance, Renee Whipple, Ryan Vallance, Haden Vallance, Lucy Vallance, Weston Vallance, Jill Sumner, Maison Vallance, Gena, Lonnie, and Monica; and adopted family: Jasmine-Rae St. John, Megan Cook, Carrol Ann Hinderline, Audry St. John, Serenity Northup-Edwards, Joe Teeter, Andrew Teeter, Richard Teeter, Jake St. John, Dustin Hinderline Ian Morris, Laura Starr, Brian Starr, Jesse Starr, Amanda Starr, Dylan Starr, Alicia Gibson, Tabitha Long, Luiz Adame, Audriana Adame, Reyna Cervantes, and Jose Cervantes. .  Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents Ernie and Cecile Kehl, parents, sister Carol Vallance, and nephews Doug Sumner and Warren Sumner.
