Raymond Pope,Jr.

Raymond Guy Pope, Jr., age 78, passed away January 30, 2015 in Lansing, MI. Raymond was born February 1, 1936 in St. Johns, MI the son of, Raymond and Irene Pope. Raymond married Donna Rae Alvord on October 3, 1964 in St. Johns, MI. and she preceded him in death on February 19, 2000. Raymond was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns Lions Club, and a proud member of the American Legion Post #153.

Raymond is survived by his children, Theresa (James) Ziccardi of Andover, NJ, and David (Heather) Pope of Dewitt, MI. Also surviving are grandchildren, Logan and Blake Benson, Anthony (Sarah) Ziccardi, Lauren (Stephen Callendrillo) Ziccardi, Jacob and Luke Pope, great grandson; Zach"Flash" Ziccardi, brothers; Russell Pope, Jim (Gail) Pope, aunt; Marie Smith. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and daughter, Maryann Pope.

Funeral services will take place 11:00 am Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Osgood Funeral Homes, 104 E. Cass St, St. Johns, MI., with Fr. Michael Williams presiding. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home with burial to follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The St. Johns Honor Guard will provide the military honors at the funeral home prior to burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Johns Red Wing Athletic Boosters , St. Johns High School, 501 W. Sickles, St. Johns, MI. 48879 or the Capital Area Youth Sports Association, 4615 N. Grand River, Lansing, MI. 48906.
