Raymond Donald Reha, age 74, of Elsie, MI passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Ingham Regional Medical Center, Lansing, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Herb Wheelock and Mr. Birt Cooper will officiate. Burial will follow at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday September 17, 2009 from 5-8 PM and on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 2-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie.
Raymond was born in Chapin Township, Michigan on May 23, 1935, the son of John and Mary (Palatka) Reha. Raymond married Helen Miller on July 17, 1954 in Chapin United Methodist Church. He resided all of his life in the Elsie area. Raymond was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church for 52 years and was an active member of the ZCBJ Lodge #225 in Bannister for 70 years.
Raymond was a farmer and retired Heavy Equipment Operator from Local # 324. He enjoyed deer hunting and working with his Belgian horses. The making & the sampling of Maple Syrup was his favorite. Raymond's family was a very important part of his life.
He is survived by his wife Helen Reha of Elsie, 3 sons; Donald and Alicia Reha of Elsie, Kenneth and Dawn Reha of Owosso, Roger and Penny Reha of Elsie, 4 daughters; Diane and Rick Brush of Elsie, Colleen and Randy Whitford of Ashley, Julie and Denny Crim of Henderson, Charlene and Terry Wagner of Lansing, 14 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, sister Dorothy Martinka of Ashley, and brother-in-law Walter and Marilyn Miller of Elsie. Raymond is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, a great-grandson, a son-in-law, 3 brothers, 2 brothers-in-law, and 2 sisters-in-law.
