RD Maurer

RD Maurer age 80 of Owosso, Michigan died Thursday, October 23, 2003 at his home. He was a contractor and he loved to farm.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna, Michigan.
Pastor Michael Bennett will officiate and burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso, Michigan.
RD was born October 17, 1923 the son of George Jacob & Hazel (Adams) Maurer in Corunna, Michigan. He graduated from Corunna High School and resided most of his life in Owosso & Corunna area. On August 4 1948 he married Gene Griswold on Angola, Indiana. RD was a member of Pittsburg Methodist Church of Owosso and Family Christian Church of Perry. He was a member of the Corunna VFW Post #4005 and he served during WWII in Burma as a Merrilla�(TM)s Marauders.
Survivors include his wife Gene Maurer of Owosso, Michigan, 2 daughters Robin & Larry Bennett of Owosso, Michigan, Denesea�(TM) & Jim Pavwoski of Owosso, Michigan, 3 grandchildren, Alisha & FiancAC.e Brian, Nathan & James, 1 sister, Vera Hale of Flint, Michigan, 4 brothers Leon & Ketha Maurer of Owosso, Michigan, Arvine & Joy Maurer of Owosso, Michigan, George Jr. & special friend Jeanie of Henderson, Michigan, Milo & Nina Maurer of Corunna, Michigan, he is also survived by many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, grandson Tracy Bennett. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
