Rebecca Koutz

Rebecca Jeanne “Becky” Koutz, age 42, of Ovid, MI, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing, MI.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI.

Rebecca was born in Lansing, MI on January 23, 1976, the daughter of Robert B. and Wendy J. (Magnuson) Veltman.  Becky graduated from Bath High School with the class of 1994.  She also received her BSN from Baker College.

On February 8, 1998, Becky married Adam Koutz at the People's Church, East Lansing, MI. Together they were blessed with 21 years of marriage and three children: Quinn, Emme, and Hannah.

Becky was a Registered Nurse working at McLaren Hospital in Lansing for 20 years.  She was passionate about her family; they were her whole life.  Becky loved camping, running, kayaking, biking, hiking - anything outdoors.  She also enjoyed her flowers, gardening and the chickens and ducks.  Becky would do anything for her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Adam Koutz, son Quinn Koutz, daughter Emme Koutz and daughter Hannah Koutz all of Ovid.  She is also survived by her parents Robert and Wendy Veltman, brother Rob (Shannon) Veltman, nephew Jonah Veltman, niece Riley Veltman, father-in-law Jerry Koutz, grandparents, a large extended family, and many special friends.
