Reginald Bloomquist

Reginald L. "Reggie" Bloomquist age 67, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016, at MidMichigan Medical Center, Alma, MI.
Reginald was born in Alma, Michigan on July 15, 1949, the son of Carl  K. Bloomquist and Pauline (Witherspoon) Jones. He graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1967. Reggie married Glenda Sue Hoyt on August 12, 1972, at the Church of God, Alma, MI.
Reggie's greatest joy in life was serving his family and friends with acts of kindness and love.   He enjoyed caring for his children in countless ways and spending time making memories with his grandchildren.  His presence will be missed by those he touched throughout his life.  Reggie enjoyed fishing, hunting and archery.  He was a member of the Porter Free Methodist Church, Breckenridge, MI, Mid-Michee Bowmen and Merrill Broadheads Archery Club. Reggie worked at Lobdell-Emery for many years. He went on to work at Alma Products where he retired in 2011. He was very proud to have served his Country in the 1st Cavalry Division during the Vietnam War in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife Glenda Bloomquist, children; Brian and Heather Bloomquist, Craig and Michelle Bloomquist, Julia and JJ Metz, grandchildren; Marissa and Miranda Bloomquist, Anna and Noah Bloomquist, Dillon and Lia Metz, sisters; Larena (Pete) Mason, Ralynn Hansen, step brothers; Cliff and Marilyn Harter, Ron and Julie Harter, Don and Mary Harter, Phil and Jeanette Harter, step sister Nancy and Dave McClintock, mother in law Mavis Hoyt, brother in law Gary and Margaret Hoyt, sister in law Peggy and Bernie Baert, and brother in law Andy Hoyt. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, father-in-law Glen Hoyt, brother in-law Ralph Hoyt and nephews Bill and Jim Hoyt.

Funeral Services will be held at Porter Free Methodist Church, Breckenridge, MI, on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Ron Frederick officiating.  Burial will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI.
