Reva Rummer

Reva Glee Rummer age 96 of Ithaca, MI, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Masonic Pathways Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Steve Swem officiating.  Burial will take place at Ithaca Cemetery, Ithaca, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Reva was born in Bridgeville, MI on August 2, 1921, the daughter of George and Anna (Ingersoll) Isham.  Reva married James A. Rummer on May 17, 1942.  James passed away on June 29, 1995.  She resided most of her life in Ithaca.

Reva's family was the most important part of her life.  She graduated from Fulton High School at the age of 15 and was the valedictorian of her class.  Apart from her full time duties as a parent, she also worked at Ithaca High School, Fowler's Farm Sales, Nevin's Auto Parts and Larry's Hardware in Ithaca.  Reva also was an original Rosie the Riveter during WWII.  She was instrumental in obtaining building funds for the Church of God in Ithaca.  Reva was a Den Mother for many years with Cub Scouts.

She is survived by her son Bob and Donna Rummer, son Gordon “Tuff” and Sheila Rummer, son Jerry and Nancy Rummer, son Carl and Carol Rummer, daughter Suzie and Sam King, foster son Phil and Sande Foster, 11 grandchildren: Lori Rummer, Julie (Scott) Allen, Molly (Adam) Burhans, Ryan (Ele) Rummer, Kirk Rummer, Ronna Rummer, Brad Rummer, Chad (Holly) Rummer, Jenna (Morgan) Vallen, James (Amy) King, and Michael (Brandon) King, 15 great-grandchildren: Keeghan, Kennedee, Kerrigan, Zach, Jacob, Jalyn, Jace, Emilie, Matthew, Allison, Elora, Lincoln, Sam, Ava and Reva.  Reva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters: Ruth Isham, Audrey Johnson, and Betty Manus, her brother Giles Isham, and niece Ronna Johnson Roslund.
