Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt, age 74, of Saginaw, Michigan, formerly of Bannister, Michigan died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at St. Francis Home in Saginaw, Michigan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, 517 East Main Street, Bannister, Michigan on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Bishop Joseph R. Cistone presiding. Visitation will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 1:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., with a Rosary prayed at 3:00 P.M. and a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. all at the church, with Fr. Marcel Portelli presiding.

Father Wolfgang Streichardt was born on October 9, 1938 in Erfurt, East Germany. He was one of 11 children born to Margaret and Paul Streichardt. He lived in Germany until 1956. Wolfgang came to Canada in 1968 and attended schools in Nova Scotia from 1968-1972. He completed his theological studies at Catholic Theological Union, Chicago, IL. He was ordained a priest by the Most Rev. Ken Untener, then Bishop of Saginaw, on November 21, 1982.

Fr. Streichardt pastoral assignments were; Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Chesaning, Michigan, Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Parish, in Peck, Michigan, Pastor of St. Patrick Parish, Croswell, Michigan, A Regional Vicar and he was the former Pastor at St. Cyril Parish, Bannister, Michigan.

Survivors include 7 brothers; Gerhard, Alois, Hermann, Thomas, Norbert, Rudolf, Bernard, and 1 sister Elisabeth, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, 1 sister Ursula Kiel and 1 brother Gunter.
