Rex Ward

Rex Gaylord Ward, 72, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away suddenly, on Wednesday, December 16, 2009.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, 1:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Home, 2057 N. Lansing St., St. Johns, Michigan.
Rex was born in Lansing, Michigan, to Victor & Olive (Whipple) Ward on February 10, 1937. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Rex married Waneta Clark on May 24, 1958 in Clinton County, Michigan. He was employed as a Truck Driver for Zeebs Fertilizer Company, St. Johns, Michigan for 47 years. Rex lived in Gladwin County for the last 15 years, previously residing in Clinton County, and was a member of the American Legion Post #0153, St. John's, Michigan.
He is survived by his wife: Waneta Ward of Gladwin; 5 children: Lucinda Low of St. Johns; Randy Ward of North Dakota; Wesley (Jane) Ward of Ovid; Guy (Michele) Ward of Edmore; Victor (Angela) of Ovid; 17 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren; brother Ted (Marsha) Whipple of Charlotte; 2 sisters: Margie Lotre of DeWitt; Peggy Longcor of Lansing; and several nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents & brother: Gerald Ward.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be used according to the wishes of the family.
