RG Whitford, age 79, of Perrinton, Michigan died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Laurels of Fulton, Perrinton, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 2:30 P.M., Pastor Bill Dye will officiate. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery North Star, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca chapel.
RG was born in Carson City, Michigan on December 19, 1934, the son of Carl of and Hilda (Bigelow) Whitford. He graduated from Ashley High School. On June 5, 1954 he Married A. Elaine Kellogg in St. Louis, Michigan. Elaine preceded him in death on February 28, 2013. RG worked for Fisher Body in Lansing, retiring in 1994 after 42 years of service. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors and his farm tractors. He and Elaine resided most of their lives in Ashley and Perrinton, Michigan. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Alma, Michigan.
He is survived by 3 sons, James and Patricia Whitford of St. Johns, MI; Mark and Leigh Whitford of Ashley, MI; Randy and Colleen Whitford of Ashley, MI; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 sisters and 2 brothers, and 1 aunt. RG was predeceased by his wife and parents.
Memorials may be made to Alma Elks Lodge.
