Richard H. 'Dick' "Yogi" Barnes, age 83, of Lansing, MI passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Osgood Chapel, 104 E. Cass Street, St. Johns, MI, on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating.  Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Richard was born in Ithaca, Michigan on March 9, 1933, the son of Wayne E. and Belma Marie (Gross) Barnes.  He served his country in the United States Air Force as a SSG.  Yogi retired as a semi driver from General Motors in 1982 after 31 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lansing, MI.

He is survived by his daughters; Debra Barnes of Pelkie, MI, Denise and John Perry of Laingsburg, MI, Delayne and Darin Jackson of Wenatchee, Washington, daughter-in-law Lori Barnes of Sunfield, MI, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son Hal A. Barnes and grandson George Frazeur III.
