Richard David Best, age 41, of Corunna, MI passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel, Corunna, MI on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 1:00 P.M., Pastor David Woodby will officiate. Burial will take place at Pine Tree Cemetery Corunna, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 5, 2009 from 11-1 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI.

Rich was born in Flint, Michigan on August 23, 1967, the son of David M. and Nancy L. (Tyni) Best. He attended Corunna Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1985. Rich worked in construction for most of his adult life and was proud to have obtained his journeyman's card. He loved to hunt and was a huge sports fan always routing for Michigan teams, especially the University of Michigan, the Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and the Tigers. Rich was a kind and gentle man and will be sorely missed. He resided most of his life in the Corunna area and was a member of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters Local 687.

Rich leaves behind his loving family, mother Nancy, sister Cheryl and Lonnie Paez, brother Scott and Stephanie Norden, one nephew Zachary Paez, three nieces; Savannah Paez, Jennifer Norden and Samantha Norden. He was predeceased by his father David Best.
