Richard Blackburn

Richard Duane Blackburn, age 77, of Mt. Morris, Michigan formerly of Owosso passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 at his home.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Bethel Baptist Church, 4494 N. Linden Road, Flint, Michigan. Rev. Walt Rose and Rev. Goodman Cox will officiate.
Richard was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on February 7, 1933, the son of Floyd and Vera (Parse) Blackburn. Richard resided most of his life in Owosso & Corunna area, later in life he lived in Mt. Morris. Richard served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.
Richard worked at Midland Ross and Consumers Power in Sales. He enjoyed NASCAR and Indy Car and he also enjoyed football. Richard was a boxer in his younger years earning the Golden Gloves Championship. He served as a church choir director and sang as a church soloist.
He is survived by his son Mark Blackburn of Owosso, MI and his daughter Sharon Blackburn of Owosso, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd Blackburn and Vera Williams and daughter Cynthia in infancy.
