Richard "Dick" H. Budd, age 90, died, August 16, 2010. He was born March 19, 1920, in Lansing, the son of Sidney and Julia (Gebow) Budd. Dick graduated from Lansing Eastern in 1938, he served in the Navy during WWII in the Philippines as a Submarine Radar and Sonar Communicator. He worked as a salesman at Budd's Music House, Shephard Shoes, and was an Insurance Agent and later worked for Eagle Buick in Crystal River, Florida. Dick was a member of Holt United Methodist Church, and a life member of VFW Post #2406 in Charlotte, Michigan.
He is survived by his partner of 33 years, Betty Holcomb of St. Johns, his son, Richard A. Budd of Lansing, daughter, Judy (Bill) Hunt of Holt, sister, Betty (Bill) Griffin of Jacksonville, Florida, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, the family of Rob and April Phillips, as well as the entire Holcomb family. He was preceded in death by his daughter in law, Nancy Budd.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Holt United Methodist Church, with Rev. Glen Wagner officiating. Contributions may be made in Dick's memory to Sparrow Hospice at St. Lawrence Campus. The family is being served by, Osgood Funeral Home of St. Johns.
