Richard Carl Saylor, age 75, of Bannister, Michigan died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at the Church of the Living Word, Ovid, MI on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Kirk Brookins officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI.
Richard was born in Bannister, Michigan on October 17, 1937, the son of Orin and Mary (Lucas) Saylor. On February 28, 1965 Richard married Judy Lambert in Ithaca, Michigan. Judy predeceased him on November 20, 2009. Richard was a welder and owned and operated Saylor's Railway Welding. He enjoyed all types of sports. Richard enjoyed and loved his grandchildren. He resided most of his life in Bannister, Michigan.
He is survived by 4 daughters; Elizabeth Cummings of Freeland, MI, Lynette and Bill Schmidt of Bannister, MI, Leandra and Todd Fox of Ovid, MI, Lynna and Tim Nierescher of Ashley, MI, 3 sons; Richard and Loretta Saylor Jr. of St. Johns, MI, Kevin and Julie Saylor of Bannister, MI, David Saylor of Freeland, MI,
20 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 brothers; Stanley and Linda Saylor, Ray and Shirley Saylor, Duane and Betty Saylor, Cliff and Mary Lou Long, and daughter in law Julie Saylor. Richard was predeceased by his parents, wife, daughter & son in law Lisa Ann & Garret Hayes, grandson, Garret John Hayes, son Jonathan Saylor, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.
