Richard Fockler

Richard Allen Fockler, age 66, of St. Louis, MI passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center, Midland, Michigan. Funeral Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Alma, MI at 11:00 A.M.  on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, with Rev. John Eich officiating.  Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 6:00 to 8 P.M.  at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI and on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Richard was born in Alma, Michigan on October 5, 1950. He graduated from Alma High School with the Class of 1969.  Richard served his country as a U.S. Marine in the Vietnam War attaining the status of Corporal. On June 29, 1973, Richard married MaryEllen Goschke in St. Louis, Michigan.

He retired from Helena after many years of service.  He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  Dick's passion was fishing and boating with family and friends.

Richard is survived by his wife MaryEllen, sister-in-law Elaine, brother-in-law Bob, brother-in-law Carl (Donna), and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife's parents Carl and Grace Goschke, brother-in-law Leo Cline and sister-in-law June Goschke.
