Richard Gerald Richards, Jr., age 77, of St. Louis, MI died Saturday, August 3rd, 2013 at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma, MI. In accordance with Richards wishes, there will be no services.
Richard was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 19, 1936, the son of Richard G and Helen A. (Pohjila) Richards. He graduated from Chassell High School with the class of 1954, and then earned his Certificate of Agriculture from MSU. He married Barbara J. (Mulholland) Richards on February 17, 1961 in Detroit, MI. Richard spent the last 10 years in St. Louis. He retired from Michigan Tech in 1998, as a machinist. He also served his country in the US Navy and US Army during the Korean War. He loved fishing, and going to the casino.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Richards of St. Louis, MI; daughter Susanna and Vince Slezinger of Prescott, MI; daughter Mary and Robert Foster of Troy, MI; son Richard and Laurie Richards III of St. Louis, MI; 8 grandchildren; and 22 1/2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Richards Sr. and Helen Beall.
