Richard L. Kaufman age 79 of Breckenridge, Michigan died Saturday, August 04, 2007 at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel in St. Louis, Michigan on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Phil Maxwell will officate with burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge, Michigan Visitation will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. till time of service.
Richard was born in St. Louis, Michigan on February 1, 1928 the son of Shirley & Leona (Leonard) Kaufman. He resided most of his life in St. Louis and Breckenridge area. He attended St. Louis schools. Richard married Ruth Habeker on May 2, 1948 in St. Louis, Michigan and she survives him. He was a lifelong area farmer, which included dairy and livestock. He was also an avid fisherman and a devoted grandpa and great- grandpa. He was a member of the St. Louis Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Kaufman of Breckenridge, Michigan, two daughters; Malinda & Rodney Hadanek of Charlotte, Michigan and Sandra & David Rice of Grand Rapids, Michigan, four grandchildren; Whitney Hadanek of St. Joseph, Michigan, Taylor Hadanek of Portage, Michigan, Heidi & Steve Luokkanen of Hudsonville, Michigan, Heath & Emily Rice of Wayland, Michigan. Also surviving him are 4 great-grandchildren; Grant, Autumn, Ashton, and Parker, two sisters; Donna & Roger Slagel of Jupiter, FL, Dortha Gruenberg of St. Louis, Michigan.
Memorials may be made to the family. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
