Richard Dale Rogers, age 76, of St. Louis, MI went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Louis First Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Phil Maxwell will officiate.
Richard was born in Merrill, Michigan on March 8, 1933, the son of Cyrus Irving and Neva (Pruden) Rogers. He attended St. Louis & Merrill Schools. Richard married Oneta Jean Edwards on January 3, 1951. Richard loved flying and boating as well as bee keeping, bird watching, model RC airplanes, and woodworking. He faithfully listened to Chuck Swindoll ministries. He was a loving husband and father who cherished his family. Richard was a self employed carpenter who later owned and operated St. Louis Video Taping Service. He was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed. He was a member of St. Louis First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Oneta Rogers of St. Louis, MI; 7 children; Terry Rogers of Alma, MI, Dixie and Jerry Hollenbeck of Alma, MI, Penny Fahrner of Westfield, IN, Cynde Rogers of Westfield, IN, Karen and Bobby Collins of Chattanooga, TN, Brenda and Mike Munson of Howell, MI, Bryon and Kathy Rogers of Alma, MI, 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and a sister Dorothy Ellsworth of Ithaca, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Jeremy Rogers, 2 brothers Harold & Carl, and 4 sisters Marie, Pearl, Julia, and Myrtie.
