Richard Moore

Richard S. Moore, of St. Johns, MI died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the age of 85. The son of John and Dora (DeGroot) Moore was born March 28, 1924 in Castlewood, South Dakota. Richard worked as a Superintendent with Michigan Consolidated Gas company and he retired in 1978. He was a member of St. Johns First United Methodist Church, Optimist Club of Muskegon, Elks Club of Naples, FL, and The Power Squadron of Muskegon. Richard married Jeanette Wheaton in 1947 and she survives him.

Also surviving are daughters, Linda (David) Pendell of Bloomington, IL, Dr. Ann (Dr. Russell) Flermoen of St. Johns, Mark (Sandra) Moore of Ann Arbor, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister, Lorraine (Howard) Morrison, brothers, John Moore, Tom (DeLinn) Moore, sister-in-law, Marietta (Gerard) Hasper, brother-in-law, Richard (Dorotha) Wheaton and several nieces and nephews.

A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Richard's name to Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor or First United Methodist Church of St. Johns. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Home.
