Richard James “Rick” Stone

     Richard James "Rick" Stone, age 66, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at Woodland Hospice House, Mt. Pleasant, MI.                   
     A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - St. Louis, MI, at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 10, 2023. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.      

     Richard was born in Alma, Michigan on November 24, 1956, the son of James Bernard and Patricia "Pat" (Ryan) Stone. On May 4, 1991, Rick married Tamara Jo Lipan at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Bay City, MI. They have been married thirty-two years.    After graduating from Alma High School in 1975, Rick began his life long career as a mechanic. He worked for W. R. Miller (1976-1978), West Bay Honda (1978-2000), Thelen Honda (2000-2006), and Bader John Deere (2006-2018). Rick enjoyed many years of vintage motocross racing, flying radio-controlled airplanes, fishing and hunting.                   

       Rick is survived by his wife Tami, mother Pat Stone, sisters: Brenda (Bullet) Shafer, and Evelyn (Don) Olson, and brother-in-law Randy (Mary) Lipan.  He was welcomed to Heaven by his father Jim Stone, and his in-laws Edna and Dick Lipan.                                      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
