Richard Allen Swarthout, age 53, of Owosso, Michigan died Monday, December 9, 2013 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, Michigan.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bannister United Methodist Church, Bannister, MI on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Mona Dye officiating.

Richard was born in Owosso, Michigan on January 15, 1960, the son of Charles and Marlene (Pontious) Swarthout. On June 17, 1988 he married Tina Marie Scherzer in St. Johns, Michigan. He worked for Green Meadow Farms in Elsie and enjoyed raising his pigs. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Richard resided most of his life in Elsie and Owosso, Michigan.

He is survived by wife Tina Swarthout of Owosso, MI, 3 daughters; Amanda and Phil Swarthout-Pearce of Owosso, MI, Misty Mason of Elsie, MI, Samantha and Charles Swarthout of Owosso, MI, 8 grandchildren, parents; Charles and Marlene Swarthout of Bannister, MI, 3 sisters; Sheila Swarthout, Jaeleen and Dale Adkins, and Norita Swarthout, 1 brother Jerry and Pam Swarthout, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents and a grandchild.
