Rick Rimmel

Rick Arrington Rimmel, age 67, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020, at his home.

A Graveside Service will be held at the Ithaca Cemetery on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Christina Jensen officiating.

Rick was born in Kirksville, Missouri on October 4, 1953, the son of Rex Arrington and Dolores (Gutscher) Rimmel. He graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1971. He then earned an associates degree in Turf Grass Management from MSU. On May 1, 1976 he married Mary Kathryn Kernen at First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca, MI. Mary passed away on May 24, 2020.

Rick worked at General Motors for 34 years retiring in 2006. He owned and operated Central Michigan Maintenance, Inc. for 26 years. In his younger years he was an avid golfer and for many years he was the grounds keeper for Gratiot Country Club. Rick enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. His family was very important to him, especially the past few years caring for his wife. Rick was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca, MI.

He is survived by daughter Megan and Derek Hessbrook, son Adam Rimmel, parents Rex and Dolores Rimmel, siblings: Susan and Chris Sparks, Sally and Larry Bond, Shelley and Larry Faucette, and brother-in-law Charles Kernen. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife Mary and his mother and father-in-law J.L. "Bud" and Nilene Kernen.
