R.J. Robinson

R.J. Robinson age 78 of Gladwin, MI, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday November 21, 2017 at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI, with Pastor Tim Tanner of First Baptist Church, Harrison officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 from 4-8 P.M. the funeral home.

R.J. was born in Elsie, Michigan on December 22, 1938, the son Russell and Bernadine (Linman) Robinson.  He resided most of his life in Elsie.  He married Leona (McCrary) Dickenson on September 2, 1983 at their home in Ovid.

R.J. worked for Clinton Machine for 34 years.  He was an avid fisherman and loved going to Canada fishing.  He enjoyed riding dune buggies.  R.J. dearly loved his dogs and will be especially missed by his baby "Skittles."  He was a member of First Baptist Church Harrison, MI.

He is survived by his wife Leona Robinson of Gladwin, children:  Jaylene (Art) Berkompas of Rudyard, Delane "Duffy" (Roger) Short of Washington, Deanna (Les) Pease of Wasington, and Alan Robinson of Lansing; grandchildren:  Kenny (Ashley) Nayback, Heather (Keith) Jordan, Amy (Willie) Mojica, Alan (Heather) Jackson, Bennett Robinson and Alason Robinson; many great grandchildren, 4 sisters:  Janice (Gary) Pontius of Higgins Lake, Jeanette Robinson of St. Johns, Karen (Ron) Barton of Ithaca, and Cathy (Dan) Korienek of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.  R.J. was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Wayne Robinson.
