Robert was born in Gladwin, MI on October 5, 1941, the son Elmer Clair and Gertrude Leone (Fackler) Campbell.

Bob grew up on a farm in Gladwin, MI and served for a short time in the United States Navy. After a medical discharge, he returned to work on dairy farms in Shepherd, MI. Bob married the love of his life BettyAnn Denniston on June 24, 1961, in Ashley at Betty's parents home. Betty's father performed the ceremony. He later worked at General Motors as a fixture repairman. Throughout his various careers he built several homes in the Ashley area, including his family's home. Bob created a bus service for factory workers, called the Maple Valley Road Runner, transporting three shifts a day to General Motors and home. This later developed into Mid-Michigan Coaches, charters and tours throughout the US and Canada. This was a family endeavor and he enjoyed working along side his wife and children. In his later years he owned and operated a small used car dealership where he repaired cars and RV's for purchase. Bob was the true definition of a renaissance man. He was an honest, hardworking, Christian man who loved spending time with his family. He loved gospel music and especially enjoyed hearing his family play and sing.

Bob has been making homemade donuts for 45 years. He started out by taking donuts and coffee to GM and transformed into making donuts for family and friends. He had an incredible sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes to family, friends and even strangers. You could find him often at the Apple Barrel sharing a donut with his wife Betty, at Pizza Sam's or taco Tuesday at Los Hermanos.  He was such a special person to his family and friends and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, BettyAnn Campbell of Ashley, MI; children: Deanna Marie and Truett Smith of Salisbury, NC; Dennis Robert and Joann Campbell of Ashley, MI; Dawn Michelle Campbell of Ashley, MI; Darian Lee and Jenniffer Campbell of Trinity, NC; grandchildren: Matthew Smith, Marshall and Kaylee Smith, Jessica and Justin Pulley, David and Emma Campbell, Nathan Campbell, Harley Campbell, and great-granddaughter Olivia Pulley.  He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughters: Denise Marlene and Marjorie Louise and one brother Luren Campbell.
