Robert Dale Cassady age 74 of Ithaca, Michigan died Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Ingham Regional Medical Center, Lansing, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel. Pastor Charles Mordyke will officiate with burial at Hamilton Township Cemetery, Ithaca Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 6-8 P.M. & Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Robert was born in Hamilton Township, Michigan on November 11, 1930 the son of Archie Albert & Ola Maybell ( Ball ) Cassady. He was a lifelong resident of the Ithaca area and graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1949. Robert married Willowdean Zoll on August 20, 1949 in Hamilton Township, Michigan. He Retired from Federal Mogul , St. Johns in 1989 after 34 years of service. His garden and sharing his vegetables gave him great joy. He enjoyed supplying firewood for all his family & friends. He also enjoyed hunting, mushrooming, and playing cards. After his retirement, his toys included his backhoe & bulldozer to help friends & neighbors. His highest priority was his family and grandchildren. He also liked to visit with his morning coffee shop buddies.
He is survived by his wife Willowdean Cassady of Ithaca, MI, 5 children; Bruce & Debby Cassady of Ithaca, MI, Jan & Brian Winsor of Alma, MI, Tina & Bob Hindall of Ithaca, MI, Kent & Jody Cassady of Ithaca, MI, Pat & Jean Cassady of Ithaca, MI, 11 grandchildren; Michelle & Lyal Brookens of Ithaca, Jamee & Jaime Cassady of Perrinton, Chanda & Mike Shook of Vestaburg, Casey Williams of Ithaca, Jennie Cassady of Ithaca, Tadd Deitrich of Ithaca, Tonya Deitrich of Ithaca, Sidanna Cassady of Ithaca, Cody Cassady of Ithaca, Cory Cassady of Alma, Brandi Cassady of Alma, 2 step grandchildren; Todd & Devin Hindall of Hawaii, Brook & Scott Webb of Cadillac, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 sister Beverly & Dick Bovee of Ithaca, and brother in law Gus VanDePerre of Ithaca. Predeceased by parents, sister Vivian VanDePerre, brothers, Alton Murl Cassady, and Alex Glendon Cassady.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Ithaca Senior Activity Building or Lafayette Presbyterian Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.
