Robert Lee Edgar age 63 of Culver City, California formerly of St. Louis, Michigan passed away Wednesday August 25, 2004 at Gratiot Community Hospital, Alma, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 30, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, Michigan. Pastor Jim Bear will officiate with internment at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, Michigan. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 28, 2004 6-8 P.M. & Sunday August 29, 2004 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Robert was born in Alma, Michigan on September, 29, 1940 the son of Clayton & Anna (Vogel) Edgar. He graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1959.
Robert retired from T.R.W. in California after 32 years of service. He was a NRA member. He was a Lance Corporal who served in the U.S. Marines during Bay of Pigs. He had a passion for hunting & fishing. In California he loved hunting at "Dinky Creek", & ocean fishing out of Marina Del Rey "Dock 52", fresh water fishing at "Kenneth Hahn Park". Robert enjoyed hosting his friends to the boxing events presented on HBO and serving his "famous" hot chili. His favorite watering hole for friends was the "Scarlet Lady Saloon". He resided his adult life in California.
Survivors include his three sisters; Beverly & Ron Widgren of St. Louis, Michigan, Jackie Basko of Mesa, Arizona, Linda Clark of St. Louis, Michigan, three brothers; Terry & Sherri Edgar of Breckenridge, Michigan, Rick & Sharon Edgar of St. Louis, Michigan, and Douglas & Brenda Edgar of Alma, Michigan. He was also survived by many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers; Gary and Dennis.
