Robert Russel Fairchild

     Robert Russel Fairchild, age 83, of Goetzville, MI, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
     Per Bob's request no services will be held.
     Robert was born in Mt. Pleasant, MI on April 5, 1941, the son of Vernon Russell and Fay (Harry) Fairchild. He was a graduate of Shepherd High School, with the Class of 1959. On March 1, 1962, Bob married Betty J. Myers in Sonoma, MI.
      Bob retired from General Motors after 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and camping. Bob and Betty volunteered every summer at a children's Christian service camp. Bob drove a bus for the bus ministry of his church, West Lansing Church of Christ, where he was a Deacon and then Elder. Later he was a member of Detour Christian Church where he served as minister. In his younger years, Bob worked on his family farm. He was a Boy Scout Leader and 4-H Leader.
     He is survived by his wife Betty Fairchild of Goetzville, MI; son Chris and Kathy Fairchild of St. Johns, MI; son Craig and Lara Fairchild of New Haven, IN; 6 grandchildren: Aaron (Britni) Fairchild, Jacob (Alisha) Fairchild, Christy (Michael Mihneski) Fairchild, Ian Fairchild, Martin Fairchild, and Rose Fairchild; 7 great-grandchildren: Isabella, Ilijah, Willow, Tanner, Tyler, Colton, and Leo; brother Gerald and Harriette Fairchild of Shepherd, MI; sister Marilyn McDaid of Alma, MI; brother Mike Fairchild of Breckenridge, MI; sister Cheryl and Chuck Maxon of Remus, MI. Bob is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Rose and brother-in-law Jerry Draper, brother-in-law William McDaid, and sister-in-law Dorothy Fairchild.
