Robert "Bob" L. Hardaker Sr., age 74, a man of faith, of Elsie, MI, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church Elsie, MI on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ralph Parkin officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI.

The only child of Happy and Dorothy (Wolfe) Hardaker, Bob was born May 8, 1937 in Flint, MI. He graduated from Chesaning High School with the class of 1956, where after he joined the Air Force and was trained as a munitions specialist. Bob married Sue Bennett on December 5, 1956 in Elsie, MI. After he was discharged from the Air Force he held several manufacturing jobs until he was hired by General Motors Parts in Flint. He was a Cub Scout leader and a Little League coach. In 1973 Bob accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord, and life changed dramatically. He was an evangelist at heart, and he set out to make sure everyone in his family was ready for Heaven. He was a member and attended several area churches, recently becoming a member of the Elsie First Baptist Church. Bob will be remembered for his true desire to follow Biblical teachings, and for his loud, hi-powered cars and trucks that he had a passion for.

He is survived by his family that he dearly loved; wife Sue, son Robert II (Marcia) of Owosso, daughter Darlene (Curt) Nickels of Ovid, granddaughter Stephanie (Scott) VanLuven of Flint, grandsons; Robert Hardaker III of Owosso, and Logan (Carolyn) Schutlz of Bannister, sisters; Gail (Mike) Beuerle of East Lansing, Kimberly (Jim) Turner of Brant, brother Mic (Barb) Stoddard of Petoskey, and half-brother Charles Hardaker of Otisville. He was predeceased by his father, mother, step-father William V. Stoddard, sisters; Melody Weidman, and Saundra Ackerman, and son-in-law Greg Schultz.
