Robert Hawkins

Robert H. Hawkins, a very special gentleman born and raised in Shiawassee County, lost his brave battle with cancer Sunday April 4, 2004 at Memorial Healthcare Center.
Robert was born on December 20, 1932 in Owosso, Michigan, to Wilber & Lena ( Fields ) Hawkins. He graduated from Corunna High School with the class of 1952. He married Beverly J. Shane on March 29, 1958 in Owosso, Michigan. Robert retired from GM and was a member of the Electrical Union # 948 for over 35 years. He was a Masonic member of Owosso Lodge # 81. He enjoyed all sports, boating, snowmobiling & traveling with his wife Beverly. He was an active assistant to his wife in Girl Scouts and became a life time member.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 6, 2004 5-8 P.M. and Wednesday April 7, 2004 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday April 8, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel. Rev. Jeffery Williams will officiate with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery Corunna, Michigan.
Survivors include: his wife Beverly Hawkins of Corunna, MI, sister, Betty & George Skinner of Owosso, MI, sister, Barbara & Ed Rock of Owosso, MI, brother, Bill & Dawn Hawkins, brother-in-law, David & Judy Shane of Owosso, MI, sister-n-law, Oma & Preston Frost of Chesaning, MI, sister-in-law, Eleanor & Jack Karfus of Corunna, MI, very special uncle to: Tim, Tom, Todd, Tiffany, Dean, Shad, Torrey, & Jim, great uncle to: Hunter, Dakota, Paige, Devin, Ashlan, Taylor, Kelsey, Kristi, Stacy, & Nichole.
