Robert Jakeway

Robert M. Jakeway age 94, of Grand Haven, formerly of St. Johns, MI passed away Friday, December 21, 2018, in Grand Haven MI.

A Graveside Memorial Service was held at South Bingham Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. on Friday, January 4, 2019.

Robert was born in Laingsburg, MI on August 5, 1924, the son of George A. and Goldie (O'Neil) Jakeway.  He married Louisa Neller on February 24, 1945.  They celebrated 46 years of marriage before she passed away on April 24, 1991.

Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II.  He was a member of IBW Union Local #665 and was a retired electrician from Barker Fowler Electric in Lansing, MI.

He is survived by his daughter Kay and Robert Argersinger of Lansing, MI; 3 sons: Robert M. and Sandra Jakeway Jr. of Lansing, MI; Wayne and Sandra Jakeway of Odessa, FL; Daniel and Joann Jakeway of St. Petersburg, FL; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Wade and Betty Jakeway of FL; Roy and Edith Jakeway of Lake City, MI; and sister Janis of Laingsburg, MI.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Janet Smith, and 8 brothers and sisters.
