Robert Kovacs

Robert Joseph Kovacs age 73 of Waterford, Michigan, formerly of Owosso, Michigan died Saturday, December 8, 2007 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Owosso, MI on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Rev. David Fisher will officiate with burial at Great Lake National Cemetery Holly, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 10, 2007 from 5-8 P.M. with Rosary prayed on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 6:00 P.M.

Robert was born in Flint, Michigan on June 2, 1934 the son of Joseph George and Marcella ( Baka ) Kovacs. He resided most of his life in Owosso, and Waterford, Michigan. He graduated from Owosso High School, and hold degrees from Univerisity of Michigan, University of Minnesota, and Wayne State University. Robert was an engineering intern at White Sands Proving Grounds in New Mexico, he served as a specialist 3rd class in the U.S. Army, a college educator, a social worker, and a theologian, which he always felt was his true life's work. Robert was a member of St. Perpetua's Church, Waterford, Michigan.

He is survived by his sister Dorothy & Frank Marsik of Owosso, MI, daughter Annie Rickert of Commerce Towhship, MI, 2 sons Dr. Stephen & Lisa Kovacs of Owasso, OK, Michael Kovacs of Murfreesboro, TN, grandchildren; Benjamin, Joshua, Katlyn, Jesse, Nikki, and Jessica, great grandchild Kasen, nephew Frank Marsik Jr., and niece Lori England. He is predeceased by his mother Marcella B. Kovacs, and father Joseph G. Kovacs.

Memorials may be made in his memory to Catholic Relief Services. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel, Corunna, Michigan.
