Robert Martin

Robert D. Martin, age 80, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in the presence of his family. Robert was born in St. Johns, Michigan on May 13, 1929, the son of Roscoe and Dorothy (Gibson) Martin. Robert married Roberta Hathaway on December 17, 1949 and she survives him. Robert retired from General Telephone. He enjoyed going to country music jamborees and hunting. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with his wife, Robert is survived by his sons, Terry Martin and Kim (Viola) Martin; grandchildren, Tonya Martin, Tammy (Steve) Wainwright, Michael (Elise) Martin, Robin (Kati) Martin and Sheena (Steve) Ballbach and great grandchildren, Tyler, Haelee, Roscoe, Alivia, Summer, Faelyn and Ava. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William "Bill" Martin.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Friday, August 7 at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns, with burial at Mt. Rest with Pastor John Jakus officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorial contributions to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are being made by the Osgood Funeral Home.
