Robert was born in St. Louis, Michigan on February 5, 1931, the son of Carl and Doris (Bobzien) Mitchell. Bob married Gladys (Parenteau) Denniston on August 8, 1972. Gladys passed away on October 20, 2009.
Bob retired from General Motors after many years of employment. He was a lifelong farmer and still maintained his 160-acre farm. Bob had a toy tractor collection and he loved reminiscing about tractors he had over the years, especially Allis-Chalmers. He enjoyed yard sales, bartering for a deal and trips to the casino. Bob looked forward to the yearly family reunion in July and spending time with those he loved. He will be remembered for his willingness to help others in need. If he had it, it was yours to borrow, that's why he had 2 or 3 of everything. Bob began tagging all of his things with red spray paint to make sure they were returned to him. He thought duct tape could fix anything and had plenty on hand.
He is survived by his children: Brad and Brenda Mitchell, Leah Kostal, Lois Gruesbeck, Kenny Denniston, Rita Hitsman and Cary Muscott, Max Denniston, David and Janie Denniston, and John and Tammy Denniston; grandchildren: Todd, Danielle, Taylor, Wendy, Ginger, Mandy, Matt, Misty, Eric, Kendra, Denny, Brandy, Lisa, Louie, Nicho, Jeramie, Jonathan, Melissa, Tiffany, Nathan, Megan, and Ann, many great- grandchildren & great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Carl and Joanne Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons: Gary Mitchell, Jack Denniston, daughter Laura Hitsman, sister Shirley Patterson, son-in-law Glen Kostal, daughter-in-law Julie Denniston, and his grandson little Glen.
