Robert Oberlin

Robert Frank "Bob" Oberlin, age 95, of Elsie, MI passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Robert was born in Bannister, Michigan on March 17, 1921, the son of Frank and Augusta (Moore) Oberlin.  Robert resided most of his life in Elsie and Bannister, MI.  Robert married Josie Bernath on December 28, 1946. She passed away on February 8, 2001.

He is survived by his daughter Caroline and Mike Smith of South Boardman, MI, daughter in law Shelly Oberlin of Davidson, MI, grandchildren; Randy and Stephanie Smith of Merrill, MI, Sara and Mike Nelson of Davidson, MI, Nicholas of Davidson, MI, Joshua of Davidson, MI, great grandchildren; Anastacia and Archimedes Smith and Peyton Nelson, brother Jack Oberlin of Bannister, MI.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Josie, daughter Rose Goldman, son Randy Oberlin, and sisters; Doris Moore, Wanda LaRue, and Doreen Kridner.
