Robert Pokorny

Robert Lee Pokorny age 52 of Corunna, Michigan died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility Corunna, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Eric Stanton will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 17, 2006 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Robert was born in St. Johns, Michigan on April 14, 1954 the son of Rudolph and Anna ( Demyanovich ) Pokorny. He resided most of his life in Elsie, Michigan. Robert worked for a time at the Junction of Hope Restaurant in Chesaning. He enjoyed listening to music, especially polkas. Robert was a member of the ZCBJ Hall of Bannister, Michigan and took part in the Special Olympics in running events.

He is survived by his sister Patricia & Oli Cech of Owosso, MI, 4 brothers; Edward & Loretta Pokorny of Elsie, MI, Rudy & Maxine Pokorny of Elsie, MI, Eugene & Alice Pokorny of Owosso, MI, Carl & Jeannie Pokorny of Ovid, MI, and many nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, and brother Gary Pokorny.

Memorials may be made to ZCBJ Hall in Bannister, Michigan or the Carland Zion Brethren In Christ Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
