Robert Pueschner

Robert Joseph Pueschner, age 81, of St. Louis, MI died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at McKellar Assisted Living in St. Louis, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Mr. Keith Wise officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorial visitation will be held an hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Robert was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin on August 27, 1930, the son of Frank William and Harriet Caroline (Hermanson) Pueschner. Bob graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1948, and earned his Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from Alma College. He married Helen Louise (Sowers) Pueschner on July 14, 1953 in Angola, IN. She passed away February 15, 1996. Bob was a lifelong resident of St. Louis, and retired from Dow Chemical in 1985 after many years of employment. Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was named Most Valuable Player in the MIAA 2 years in a row for the Alma College Basketball team, and also played basketball during his time in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed golfing and loved to travel especially to the Grand Teton Mountains.

He is survived by his daughter Linda and Andrew Kovac of Grandville, MI, son John Pueschner of St. Louis, MI, 5 grandchildren; Adam and Katherine Kovac of Roanoke, IN, Shannon Pueschner of Alma, MI, Katie and Rob Curtis of Kalamazoo, MI, Nathan Pueschner of St. Louis, MI, Alex Kovac of Grandville, MI, great granddaughter Gracie Lynn Louise Pueschner of Alma, MI, and brother Jack and Alice Pueschner of Eugene, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, and son Frank Pueschner.
