Robert Sangster

Robert Leonard Sangster, age 17, of Alma, MI passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011.

Funeral Services will be held at Alma First Church of God on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Steve Wimmer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 14, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel, St. Louis, MI.

Robert was born in Alma, Michigan on October 12, 1993, the son of Kenneth Lee and Theresa Ann (Mongold) Sangster. Robert attended Alma Public Schools and was attending Alma College for a mathematics class. Robert was an exemplary student, at the top of his class.

Robert loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also loved his truck and mudbogging, anything to get dirty outdoors. Robert volunteered as a Youth Hunter Safety Instructor. Robert would help anyone and helped all his neighbors when needed. He had a gift of picking very special friends. He attended Alma First Church of God.

He is survived by his parents Kenneth and Theresa Sangster Jr. of Alma, MI, sister Elizabeth Sangster of Alma, MI, grandfather Kenneth Sangster Sr. of St. Louis, MI, grandmother Terry and Ron Edgar of Mt. Pleasant, MI, grandfather Albert and Brenda Mongold of Follett, TX, uncles; Mike and Donna Sangster of St. Louis, MI, Dave and Keri Mongold of Staunton, IL, Paul and Michelle Mongold of Pennsylvania, and aunt Ricki Mongold of Mt. Pleasant, MI. Robert is also survived by numerous cousins, family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his grandmother Eunice Sangster, great-grandparents Freeman & Pearl Fraley and great-great-grandmother Helen Wilson.
