Robert Tennant

Robert James Tennant, age 81, of St. Louis, formerly of Swartz Creek and Traverse City, MI passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.

A Graveside Service will be held at Pritchard Cemetery, Elwell, MI on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 12:00 P.M.

Robert was born in Middleton, Michigan on January 2, 1935, the son of Corbley and Lorena (Vibber) Tennant.

Bob graduated from St. Louis High School and went on to graduate from Central Michigan University, and recieved his doctorate's degree from the University of Chicago. He taught at York University in Toronto, Ontario and retired from Linden High School, Linden, MI. Bob served his country in the 1st Cav. of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a 1st Leiutenant. Bob was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Korean War Veterans and the VFW. He enjoyed time spent outdoors, with his family, friends and dogs.

He is survived by his son Chris Tennant and Kellie Balzer of Clio, MI, son Patrick Tennant of Denmark grandchildren Hailey and Hadley Tennant of Clio, MI, brothers;  Albert and Ginny Tennant of Holland, MI and Tim and Carolyn Tennant of Alma, MI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Corbley and Lorena and James Zimmerly.
