Rodrick N. Ackels Sr. age 63 of Owosso, Michigan died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Memorial Healthcare Center Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Pastor Brendon Aspenson will officiate with burial at North Star Cemetery North Star, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 & Thursday, September 22, 2005 from 6-8 P.M.

Rodrick was born in Hamilton Township, Michigan on November 9, 1941 the son of Walter and Lillian C. ( Powelson ) Ackels. He resided most of his life in the Owosso Area and he graduated from Owosso High School with the class of 1960. Rodrick loved the outdoors, deer hunting & fishing. He enjoyed his time at his cabin up north. He was a self-employed janitor of Rod's Janitorial of Owosso. He was a member of the NRA.

He is survived by 2 sons; Rod Ackels Jr. of Owosso, MI, Russel & Amy Ackels of Columbia, TN, daughter Rachel & Bruce Winch of Ortonville, MI, 4 Grandchildren Lexi, Zachary, Jackson, & Lillian, sister Hazel & Richard Grinnell of Ovid, MI, brother Roger & Bobbi Ackels of The Woodlands, TX, brother Roneil & Jorja Ackels of Owosso, MI, sister-in-law Betty Ackels of Ovid, MI, many nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Walter Ackels & Lillian & Glenn Conger, and his brother Richard Ackels. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
