Roger Charles Schleder

     Roger Charles Schleder, age 79, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024, at University of Michigan Health West, Wyoming, MI.
     A Memorial Service will be held at Ithaca Baptist Church, 221 Norton Gibbs Drive, Ithaca, MI, at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 29, 2024, with Pastor Matthew Beery officiating. Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Emerson Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the church.
     Roger was born in Alma, Michigan on August 13, 1945, the son of Oscar and Beatrice (Marrin) Schleder. He married Marcella (Hanes) Schleder on December 17, 1976, at Ensley Baptist Church. They were blessed with forty-seven years of marriage.
     Roger retired from Ithaca Public Schools after 39 years of service. He was a member and served as a deacon at Ithaca Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
     He is survived by his wife Marcella Schleder of Ithaca, MI; his children: Katie Parrish of Ithaca, MI; Elizabeth and Nickolas Rice of Midland, MI; and Charla and David Peterson of Holland, MI; his four grandchildren: Emily (Brandon) Landry, Olivia Parrish, Aliza Rice, and Lydia Rice; and one great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his siblings: Richard Schleder of Ithaca, MI; and Rayna Bos of Kentwood, MI. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Marilyn Schleder, Robert Schleder, Phillip Schleder, and Evelyn Schleder.
