Ron Dean Alward age 54, of St. Louis, MI passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held at the Coe Church of Christ, St. Louis, MI, on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. with the Memorial Service immediately following at 11:00 A.M., with Dr. Keith Wise officiating.
Ron was born in Carson City, MI on April 21, 1962 the son of Ronald L. and Julia D. (Fuentes) Alward. He graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1980. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Ron worked for many years at Bear Truss and then as a Blackjack dealer at the casino.
Ron was an outdoors man. He loved camping, golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, water sports, and horseshoes. Ron had a large collection of anything wolf related. He loved his dogs (especially Bear and Cara) and raised huskies and malamutes. He was also an avid football fan; passionate about the Lions and Barry Sanders was his favorite player. Ron was an avid video gamer, especially any sports related games.
Ron is survived by his children: Rhennelle (Anthony Clark) Alward of Copperas Cove, TX, Nathaniel (Alisha) Alward of St. Louis, and Erin (TiJuan Lewis) Alward of South Lyon; 9 grandchildren: Angelica, Joel, Tiana, Arianna, Natalie, Jayce, Alivia, Quinton, and Ria; parents Ron and Julie Alward of St. Louis; brother Brett (Heather Bollinger) Alward of Grand Rapids, a niece, a nephew and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncle William Arthur Alward.
